Festival gates open at 12.30pm, with the first act on at 1.10pm. Tent City opens from 9am.

Names, resale, refunds and ID.

To get your 18+ wristband we only accept a current passport, a current Australian driver’s licence with photo or a government-issued Proof of Age card. Student cards, bills and letters don’t count. If you can’t show valid ID you’ll be treated as under 18 and won’t be able to access the bars.

Yes. For safety and security, your first and last name on your ticket must match your photo ID. If your ticket needs reissuing, contact Moshtix via their support page here.

You can access and print your ticket any time from the Moshtix website. If your email address was misspelt, send Moshtix a request with your order number and the incorrect and correct spellings, and they’ll sort it out. Learn how to do that here.

Can’t make it? Moshtix official resale lets you sell your ticket safely, and gives anyone still looking a chance to grab one for our sold-out festival. It’s the only safe way to buy or sell Handpicked tickets. Read Moshtix’s resale FAQs for the details.

There are no refunds, credits or exchanges on any ticket except as required by the Live Performance Australia Industry Code of Practice (for example if an event is postponed or cancelled etc). To view the Ticketing Code of Practice, click here.

Kids under 3 are free. Kids aged 3 to 12 need a Kids Festival Pass, and anyone 12 and over needs a full ticket. Everyone under 18 must be with a responsible adult at all times, and security won’t let under 18s enter or leave without one. Read our Youth Policy before you come.

GETTING HERE

Directions, parking and festival buses.

Lake Breeze Wines, 319 Step Rd, Langhorne Creek SA 5255. It’s about an hour from Adelaide via the South Eastern Freeway. Take the Strathalbyn exit and follow the signs to Langhorne Creek.

Yes, it’s free! The festival car park is close by, and it’s a very manageable walk through the vines to the gates. Spaces are limited, so carpool if you can.

There’s a designated drop off and pick up zone near the festival entry. Use the same spot for pick-ups at the end of the night. Check out our Site Map closer to the day to familiarise yourself (and show the person who will be driving you too!)

Routes, prices and times.

Our return buses run between Adelaide, the Hills, Murray Bridge and the Fleurieu. Your pass covers the trip there and home. Bus passes must be pre-booked through Moshtix, as we can’t take walk-ups on the day. Arrive at your pick-up point 15 minutes early with your ticket ready for the driver, and check the bus schedule for departure times.

Your bus to return you home after Handpicked will be in the same location that it dropped you off at when you arrived to Handpicked.

Yes, we require your name to be on your ticket for Security and Safety reasons.

Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure, with your ticket ready for the driver.

Buses leave Handpicked around 10.45pm, after the last act, and drop you back at the same spot you were picked up.
ON THE DAY

Gates, seating and what to pack.

Festival gates open at 12.30pm, with the first act on at 1.30pm. If you’re camping, Tent City opens from 9am.

We have a no pass-out policy once you’re inside, so bring your jacket, rug and anything else you’ll need for the night with you. In exceptional circumstances, security may offer a pass-out at their discretion.

There’s no seating in general admission areas. You’re welcome to bring a low beach-style chair to use on the sides of the lawn, but a rug is even better so everyone gets a clear view. For guaranteed seating and extra comforts, check out our Premium Passes.

Bring your ticket, photo ID, hat, sunscreen, mozzie spray and an empty reusable water bottle. Leave glass, outside food and drink, high-back chairs, umbrellas and pets at home. The full list is on our What to bring page.

Card is the quickest way to pay at our bars, food trucks and The Lane however we do have a few cash lanes too. Bring whichever suits you however please note some Food Trucks may not accept cash.

Unless your pet is a service dog, the answer is NO. No pets of any kind are permitted on the Handpicked site sorry.

food + drink
Food trucks, dietary needs and our family wine.

Outside food and drink aren’t allowed, but with 20+ food trucks onsite you won’t go hungry. Parents can bring baby food and formula, and under 5s can bring a small lunchbox of pre-packaged snacks, like chips, a sandwich, muesli bars or fruit pouches. Full meals, big quantities or anything that needs preparing will be turned away.

We have 20+ food trucks onsite offering a variety of options, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and other dietary-specific choices. If you have specific dietary needs, please reach out in advance.

CAMPING
Tent City and Caravan & campervan sites.

Two!
Tent City is for tents and swags only, with nothing on wheels allowed.
Campervan and Caravan sites are larger, for campervans, caravans and camper trailers. Each needs its own camping ticket, as they’re separately fenced areas.

It depends where you’re staying.
Tent City: each camper needs their own Tent City Pass, plus a festival ticket.
Campervans and caravans: you’ll need one campervan site ticket per vehicle, which covers up to 6 people. Everyone camping also needs their own full festival ticket.

Tent City and campervan sites open at 9am on festival day. Once you’re in, you can’t drive out again, as the road closes for festival traffic. Tent City then closes at 4pm and reopens after the last act, at around 10.45pm.

Tent City sites are about 4 x 4m, and campervan sites about 5 x 12m. Sites aren’t reserved or marked out. They’re first in, best dressed, so arrive together if you want to camp next to your group. Please keep your setup simple.Overly elaborate campsites are discouraged, Please do not go over the top with your camping setup.

Not during the festival, thanks to our no pass-out policy, so grab your jacket and anything else you need before heading in. Show your camping ticket when you first arrive to get your Tent City wristband, then use it to get back in after the last act. Once you head back to bed, you can’t re-enter the festival.

Cars, campervans or any other vehicles will NOT be allowed in Tent City. These vehicles can only be on site with a Caravan Pass.
For Tent City Campers, your vehicles MUST be parked in the Festival Car Park for safety reasons. Therefore, you will be required to carry your belongings from your car to your campsite.

Tent City is an alcohol-free zone, so no alcohol, glass (including wine glasses), gas or cooking equipment, fires or illicit substances. Bags and cars are checked on arrival, and prohibited items will be confiscated. Our 24-hour security team is there to keep everyone safe, and unruly behaviour will see you removed from the site.

Yes. There’s a Family Camping Zone inside Tent City, slightly removed from the main area for a more relaxed vibe, and still within the secure fence. Kids 3 and over need their own Tent City Pass, and under 3s are free. Any group with under 18s must include at least one parent or responsible adult.

Yes! We’ll have a food truck open from 10pm to 1am on Saturday night and again from 6am to 10am on Sunday morning. A coffee van will also be open from 6am on Sunday.

Please be packed up and out by 11.30am on Sunday. Police often run breath testing outside Lake Breeze, so if you don’t feel safe to drive by then, chat to our security or staff. Your safety comes first.

Yes Tent City will have 24-hour security on hand to ensure the safety and amenity of all campers.
Our security personnel also have the right to search bags and vehicles for any prohibited items such as glass, alcohol, weapons, illegal substances, cooking equipment etc brought within the campground. All queries and concerns onsite should be directed to security personnel.
Any unruly behaviour WILL NOT be tolerated and may result in your removal from the site.

Alcohol, glass (including wine glasses) illegal substances and gas equipment will NOT BE ALLOWED on site.
If you light a fire onsite, you will be removed from the site and may be the subject of police action.
We do not allow drugs within Handpicked Festival or within Tent City. If you are found with the possession of any form of dangerous and illicit substance, you will be evicted from the site and face criminal charges.
Please note that Tent City is an ALCOHOL FREE ZONE and is unlicensed. You are therefore NOT ALLOWED to bring OR consume any alcohol within the Tent City campground. You can only consume alcohol at Lake Breeze Wines, within the Handpicked Festival site. Bags & cars will be checked on arrival.

Each site is about 5 x 12m and fits one vehicle and up to 6 people.

Camper trailers, caravans, rooftop campers, campervans and motorhomes are all welcome. Tents and swags aren’t allowed in this area (they belong in Tent City). Only one vehicle per site, and that includes the car for rooftop campers.

Accessibility and safety
Access, first aid and security.

Yes, there is. Please keep in mind we’re outdoors on natural terrain but we’ve done our best to make the festival accessible for everyone. We have 2 accessible toilets and bar lanes wide enough for wheelchairs and prams. If you have any questions or special requirements, email us at hello@handpickedfestival.com.

Licensed paramedics are onsite all day. You’ll find the first aid tent near the festival entrance.

Yes. Our security team is onsite throughout the festival and in Tent City around the clock. If you need help or have a concern, find the nearest security staff member.
